Post-operative care: what do you need to know?

Safe healing begins with proper hygiene.

After surgery, your pet's immune system is more vulnerable, and wounds are open gates for infections. Proper post-operative care at home is critical for successful healing.

Main Rules

  • Wound cleanliness: The area around the incision must be clean and dry. Make sure your pet does not lick the wound (a protective collar may be needed).
  • Gentle disinfection: Aggressive agents should not be used directly on an open wound, but the area around it must be constantly cleaned of dirt.
  • Monitor signs: If you notice increased swelling, pus, or an unpleasant odor – contact your veterinarian immediately.

How does VetiDerm help?

Our wet wipes with chlorhexidine are designed to be gentle enough for sensitive skin, yet effectively kill bacteria. They are perfect for:

  • Cleaning dirt around the post-operative incision.
  • Maintaining overall body cleanliness when the pet cannot be bathed.
  • Disinfecting paws after short walks outside.

Healthy healing is our priority. Take care responsibly!
